How much does a DBS Check cost?
When you apply for a DBS Check for Employers through an Umbrella Body, the total cost is typically made up of two parts:
1. The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Fee**
This is a fixed charge set by the DBS and applies per application. The rate doesn’t change, whether you’re processing a single check or thousands each year.
- Basic DBS Check: £21.50
- Standard DBS Check: £21.50
- Enhanced DBS Check: £49.50
- Enhanced DBS Check with Adults’ and/or Children’s Barred List Check: £49.50
2. The Umbrella Body’s Admin Fee**
This is the service charge applied by the Umbrella Body for processing your application. These fees may vary depending on the number of applications you submit. At DBS.expert, for instance, our admin fees start from just £3.00 per application.

There are three main levels of DBS Checks for Employers: Basic, Standard, and Enhanced.
